Hey, so yes I'm back again with another beauty post for you all. This time I'm sharing a selection of my beauty must haves from my collection that I think are a staple in any girls make up drawer.
You don't have to go out and buy all of these exact products I have shown as there are many many different dupes out there, but these are the ones I have at hand to share with you guys, I have a feeling this may be a long one so grab a cuppa and enjoy!
First off I'm going to start with the eyes. For me, the eyes are the most important part of your make up look. There are loads and loads of different make up looks you can create with the right eye look. From a statement eye for going out on the town with friends or just a simple subtle day-to-day look for those more laid back days. I highly recommend the Naked Palettes by Urban Decay. There are 3 different main ones to choose from which are all partly similar in certain ways but offer a few different ranges and depth in colour as well as matte and shimmer shadows in each palette.
NAKEDone.
This is the first Naked Palette to be brought out. It has a range of browns, coppers and golds with a couple of grey shadows in there as well to help smoke out any look. As you can probably tell, this palette has seen some great love in its time and I always find myself going back to this one time and time again as it is just so versatile.
NAKEDtwo.
The Naked2 Palette is very similar to the original Naked Palette but this one has a lot more shimmery shadows in it. If this isn't for you then I wouldn't really recommend. It is great however for a night out look or for quickly turning a day look around.
NAKEDthree.
I must admit this is my favourite palette out of the three as it has the most warm tones with pinks, browns and beige colours. The Naked3 Palette has great colours for going out at night time as well as day time. It also has a better balance of shimmer and matte shades and more subtle natural warmer tones.
Benefit:They'reReal.
This is by far the best mascara I have tried out! (and I have tried many). Looking for a mascara that gives the illusion of long lashes and that stays on all day long and doesn't flake? Then look no further than this bad boy! It makes your eyes pop and completely finishes off any look whether it's going out on the town with friends or nipping to the shops for your weekly shop. Only downside to this product however is that because it stays on so long, it is a little bit of a nightmare to get off at the end of the day so a cleanser or eye make up remover is highly recommended! Also it does not come off white clothing/bedding! Just a little heads up there.
Now that we have taken care of the eyes, here's a few of my go to skin make up products:
MAC:skinfinishnatural & Benefit:HOOLA.
(Apologies: I only have a sample pot of the Hoola Bronzer oopsy!)
Both of these products are my go to daily face make up. The MAC skin finish natural face powder (on the left) is great for setting your foundation and also has great coverage for redness and breakouts. It comes in a variety of shades and it literally lasts forever! I've used this for around 3 years and this one is only my third purchase so it is well worth the money in my opinion. The Hoola Bronzing powder by Benefit (on the right) is a great natural bronzer for contouring your face. Use this in the hollows of your cheeks to enhance your cheek bones and add a little bronzed glow to your everyday look, cos' who doesn't wanna look bronzed and skin kissed everyday right?
Rimmel:WakeMeUp Foundation.
By far my most favourite high street foundation out there! It offers a great coverage and it is very affordable, you can't really argue with that can you? It gives a dewy healthy glow to your face when applied but can be matted down with a face powder if you prefer as previously mentioned. Only downside to this product is that it does contain a lot of subtle shimmer so if you aren't keen then I would avoid. Also because it gives a dewy look, if you have really oily skin I would also avoid this as it may enhance it and cause your skin to become more shiny.
And last but by no means least ... LIPS!
MAC:hue lipstick.
This is definitely my go to lipstick of the moment and staple in any girls collection. If you are going to start anywhere with lipsticks I would strongly advise a more subtle day-to-day wearable colour as it is more versatile. I love this about this particular lipstick and it goes with every make up look I wear and clothing I own and it is also very long lasting. The colour pay off is also good. There are hundreds of different shades available from MAC and other brands that are similar and I intend to increase my collection. For night time looks though I would recommend a more bold lip if you feel confident enough to wear one. Why the hell not! It adds a pop to your outfit and can completely change your look. So if you've been thinking about it but putting it off for whatever reason then just go for it! I dare you.
I really hope you enjoyed this post.
More fashion related ones to follow.
Until next time,
Lynsey x
