CURRENT SKIN CARE ROUTINE
Hello there!
So I thought about my first beauty post long and hard and what better way to start than by telling you guys what my current skin care routine is right? Let's get into it!
There are a TONNE of different skin care products out there and it has taken me a good few years to find products that work best for me. My skin is combination skin, it is very dry around the cheeks and jaw line but oily in my T-zone, although because it's winter at the moment it seems to be dry everywhere! I also used to suffer really badly with acne and have quite a lot of scars and redness left as a result of this.
So, first off it is best to find a really good moisturiser. It is a myth thinking that because your skin can tend to be oily that you don't need to moisturise. That is WRONG. If you don't moisturise it actually makes your skin MORE oily as your body produces more because it thinks your skin is left too dry therefore it tries to overcome this by producing more oil. I use the "Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser" for dry/sensitive skin as I am very prone to breakouts. It is very light weight on your skin but is still very hydrating at the same time which I love and I apply this morning and evening. It also smells really nice. That's gotta be a bonus right?
Also in the morning (sometimes evenings too) I use the "LaRoche-Posey Effalar Duo +" after I have moisturised. This is to help with any skin imperfections and redness left by previous breakouts. I would highly recommend this product as I used to suffer from acne and over time I have noticed that this product has helped to reduce redness and un-even skin tone in the affected areas. It is also a good base to use before you apply your make-up if you don't have a primer at hand.
When removing my make up in the evening I use the "Micellar Cleansing Water by Garnier" This is a great drugstore cleansing water and it is very affordable and lasts for a very long time. I use this to get rid of most of my make up by putting some on a cotton pad and wiping it all over my face to make sure I have got the worst off. I then use my "Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser" with the Muslin Cloth before bed to remove the excess bits of make up that I may have missed and to give my skin a deeper clean and then I moisturise as above. The Hot Cloth Cleanser has a great mint smell and makes your skin feel super soft and clean!
Last but by no means least, I also use my "EOS Lip Balm" to moisturise my lips morning and evening. I always think people forget to do this but I feel that it is an important part in your skin care routine especially in the winter months to help combat sore cracked lips.
I hope you guys enjoyed reading about what I use currently for my skin care routine and would be grateful for any other product recommendations out there that you think I should try!
Until next time,
Lynsey x
