Hello there beautiful readers! I'm back with a little make-up haul and mini review for you guys. Over the past couple of months I have bought a few little new pieces of make up to add to my ever growing collection and thought it would be good to share these with you.
Firstly I would like to talk about the two Soap & Glory products which are the Kick Ass Concealer and the Archery Brow Pencil.
Soap & Glory are one of my favourite brands and I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed. I had been wanting to try out the make-up range for a while but had just never gotten round to looking at it properly and actually buying anything from it.
The Kick Ass Concealer is great as it has both a lighter shade to help combat dark circles and a slightly more darker shade to help with colour correction. I have used this product on several occasions and I am really impressed with how long it lasts and also the great coverage that it gives. My skin is quite oily so I did find it did look a little greasy and cakey after a few hours but this could just be because of my skin type. A little goes a long way.
The Archery Brow Pencil is definitely a good purchase and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to fill in their brows and likes the more natural look. I have quite bushy natural brows and I love this product to help set them. It lasts all day long and I haven't needed to touch it up. I haven't tried it on a nigh out yet though but I have every confidence that it won't let me down.
(my shade is Dark Blonde)
Secondly, I went over to the Max Factor booth as I used to buy from there all of the time when I was younger but hadn't had a look in ages and ended up coming away with the Green CC Concealer for blemishes and also one of their new Creme Puff Blushes in "10 Nude Mauve"
The CC Concealer is great for me. I suffer from quite bad redness and also acne scars from when I was a teenager so this helps counter act the redness due to it being green. I had never tried a green concealer before and was really worried that it would be so noticeable but its very subtle and covers the redness so well. If you suffer from this like me and cannot find anything to cover it up then I suggest you give this a try! I just put this on and blend it in before applying my foundation.
The Creme Puff Blush is also very nice. It has slight shimmer in it too so it acts as a good highlighter on your cheekbones as well as a blush. I had seen this on a few blogs and thought that I would give it a bash myself! This colour is very subtle and just gives your face a nice healthy glow. It is perfect for everyday use and it is very compact for putting in your handbag! There are a few more colours available if you are not keen on the one above or it doesn't suit your skin tone. (which I may just have to accidentally buy)
Lastly, I was out looking for a new mascara to try as I had been religiously using the Benefit They're Real mascara for over a year (see previous posts) and I fancied a change, so I thought I would try out the Maybelline Lash Sensational mascara as I had seen a lot of good reviews about it online.
When I first used this mascara I wasn't that impressed at all and had wished that I had just repurchased the Benefit one, but I thought that I would just persevere and I'm so glad I did. For me personally it gives me great volume and separates my lashes really well and fans them out more. It is also a lot easier to remove than the Benefit one which is a bonus haha! This mascara combined with some false lashes and smoky eye shadow on a night out makes your eyes look bomb! And its also half the price of the Benefit one! No brainer! So I must admit this will be another repurchase for a while and will replace my Benefit one for a while. Not saying I wont go back to it again but I wouldn't for a while.
Thank you for reading guys, until next time,
Lynsey x
